Prime Minister Sushila Karki has paid tribute to Bipin Joshi, the Nepali student killed during the Hamas attack in Israel, describing him as a symbol of courage and national pride.
Speaking at a condolence ceremony held at Tribhuvan International Airport after Joshi’s body was brought home from Israel, the Prime Minister said his sacrifice has deeply moved the nation. She noted that Joshi’s bravery in the face of danger reflected the strength and compassion of the Nepali spirit.
Karki also expressed sympathy toward Joshi’s family, acknowledging their long and painful wait for closure. She said his memory would continue to inspire young Nepalis to act selflessly and courageously in times of crisis.
Joshi, who had gone to Israel for his studies, was abducted during the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack. Israeli authorities confirmed his death earlier this month, and his body was repatriated to Nepal on Monday.
