The body of Bipin Joshi, a Nepali student from Kanchanpur who was killed during the Hamas attack in Israel last year, is being repatriated to Nepal today.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, his remains are being flown to Kathmandu via a Fly Dubai flight, scheduled to arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport this afternoon. Prime Minister Sushila Karki, government ministers, and foreign ministry officials are expected to attend a tribute ceremony upon arrival.

Following the Israel-Hamas ceasefire and prisoner exchange, Hamas handed over a body identified as Joshi’s to Israeli forces. DNA tests and forensic examinations later confirmed the remains were his, with findings indicating he was killed shortly after being abducted.

A memorial tribute was held for Joshi at Khatiba 8 Memorial and Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv before his repatriation. His coffin was draped with the national flag of Nepal.
