Kanchanpur’s Bipin Joshi, killed in a Hamas attack in Israel, will be returned to Nepal on Monday, with officials set to honor him at the airport.

The remains of Bipin Joshi, a Nepali student from Kanchanpur who lost his life during a Hamas attack in Israel, are set to arrive in Kathmandu on Monday, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His body will be transported via FlyDubai and is expected to land at Tribhuvan International Airport in the afternoon.
Government representatives, including the Prime Minister and ministers, will be present at the airport to pay their respects.
Joshi, who had travelled to Israel for academic purposes, was taken hostage during a Hamas attack on the Kibbutz area on 7 October 2023. His death was confirmed by Israeli authorities on 13 October 2025.
After a ceasefire and prisoner exchange between Israel and Hamas, Hamas handed over his body to the Israeli army for repatriation to Nepal.
