President Ram Chandra Paudel on Sunday stressed the need for a safe and impartial electoral environment, urging both the government and security agencies to ensure that citizens can vote without fear or intimidation. The meeting at Sheetal Niwas was attended by Prime Minister Sushila Karki, several ministers, and the heads of all four security forces, highlighting the state’s focus on election preparedness.
Prime Minister Karki assured the President that the government is taking all necessary steps to conduct elections smoothly, while security chiefs confirmed their readiness to maintain peace and order across the country.
During the discussions, President Paudel also expressed concern over CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli’s recent announcement to skip the elections, emphasizing that participation from all major parties is crucial for the credibility of the democratic process.
