Interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said her government is ready to transfer power to a new administration formed in line with the public mandate expressed through elections. Speaking at a special program marking the 107th establishment day of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, she said the government’s top priorities are good governance and timely elections.
Referring to the changed political context following the Gen-Z youth movement in Bhadra, Prime Minister Karki said preparations for the House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21 have made significant progress, with the government working round the clock to ensure its success.
She stressed that elections are the only constitutional and democratic path to move the country forward and called on all stakeholders to support a clean, fair, and fear-free electoral process.
The Prime Minister also warned against rising lawlessness, stating that activities disrupting peace or undermining the rule of law will not be tolerated. She urged communities to work alongside security agencies to maintain peace and stability.
