The National Examinations Board on Tuesday (April 23) published a new routine for Grade XII exams, a day after postponing the papers.
The board had postponed the exams, which were scheduled to start from April 24, apparently due to an adverse situation arising from community teachers’ ongoing protests, their announcement to boycott all academic activities till the fulfillment of their demands and the resignation of Education Minister Bidhya Bhattarai.
As per the new schedule, the exams will start from Baishakh 21 (May 4) and run till May 16 (8 AM-11 AM).
It should be noted that the teachers have been staging protests for more than three weeks as part of their efforts to ensure the enactment of the School Education Bill by incorporating their demands mentioned in agreements reached with the government, including a six-point deal dated September 22, 2023.
