A couple, approximately 60-year-old Bhanu Mahato and his 56-year-old wife Nirmala Devi, residents of Balara Municipality–10, were found dead by hanging.
According to the police, the couple’s bodies were discovered inside a cowshed about 500 meters northwest of their home, hanging from a bamboo beam using a plastic rope.
Locals noticed the bodies around 8:00 a.m. on Saturday and immediately informed the Gadhiyā Area Police Office. Upon receiving the report, a police team arrived at the scene. A forensic team was also deployed from the District Police Office, Sarlahi, to assist in the investigation.
Locals have described the incident as suspicious. According to DSP Saroj Rai, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Sarlahi, the exact cause of the incident has not yet been confirmed.
While initial investigations suggest the possibility of suicide, the police stated that the real reason remains unknown and a detailed investigation is ongoing.
