Kathmandu Metropolitan City has decided to prioritize footpath and parking management.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Metropolitan Police Chief Bishnu Prasad Joshi provided details about the initiative. He instructed the city police to focus on issues such as dust, smoke, public toilets, protection of public property, and workshops. Chief Joshi also warned against neglecting duties or running to centers of power unnecessarily.

He stated that many issues are now under control, so monitoring alone would suffice going forward. He suggested that all communication be polite and respectful.

He said, “Let’s reduce unnecessary rushing to centers of power. We should focus on our current activities. Footpaths and parking need special attention. We must focus on dust, smoke, public toilets, protection of public property, and workshops. Many issues are already under control and improvements have been made. Now, we only need to monitor. Pay special attention to footpaths and parking. Speak politely, don’t use casual language like ‘tā̃’ with anyone. Always communicate respectfully and with soft language.”

He also instructed the city police to prevent public smoking and emphasized continuing the positive work done in the past.
