Prime Minister Sushila Karki has thanked all political parties and candidates for submitting their candidacies with enthusiasm for the House of Representatives (HoR) election scheduled for March 5.
She said that the nomination process was completed within the given time, calling it an important step toward the upcoming election. Prime Minister Karki assured that the government is fully committed to holding the HoR election in a free, fair, and peaceful manner. She emphasized that there will be no compromise on security and that all security agencies are working with full professionalism and alertness.
The Prime Minister said that the large number of candidates contesting under the first-past-the-post system shows strong trust in democracy and a shared desire to strengthen the democratic system. She noted that the election process has brought new energy to politics and the private sector and has helped reduce uncertainty across the country. She described the election atmosphere as a nationwide democratic celebration.
PM Karki also thanked the Election Commission and its staff for effectively managing the election schedule and the nomination process. She expressed hope for continued cooperation from political parties, civil society, and the media to ensure the election is successful.
Finally, she urged all Nepali citizens to actively take part in the HoR election to help build a stable and sustainable democracy.
