The Department of Commerce, Supply, and Consumer Protection has fined a marketing company for breaking the rules.

Khilunga Kalika Marketing Pvt. Ltd., based in Suryabinayak-2, Bhaktapur, was fined Rs 50,000 after an inspection found problems in how it operates. The fine was imposed under the Consumers’ Protection Act, 2075.

During the inspection, officials also checked a dozen other companies and advised them to improve their services. Consumer rights activists and local government representatives took part in the monitoring.

The Department said it will keep checking businesses regularly and take action against those that violate consumer protection rules.
