US President Donald Trump on Tuesday posted an image on his social media platform Truth Social showing himself planting the American flag on Greenland’s soil. The image also shows US Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio alongside Trump. A nearby signboard reads, “Greenland – US Territory, Established 2026.”
On the same day, Trump shared another image in which he is seen meeting European leaders in the Oval Office. A map placed behind him depicts the United States, Canada, Greenland, and Venezuela under the American flag.
Trump also stated on Truth Social on Tuesday that he had held a telephone conversation with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte regarding Greenland.
