Thunderstorms possible in parts of Terai as coldwave continues

The country is still under the partial influence of westerly winds. According to the Weather Forecasting Division, there is a chance of thunderstorms in some areas of the Terai this afternoon.

The Division said the weather will be partly cloudy in the high hills and Himalayan regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, while most other parts of the country will have clear weather. Light to moderate rain may occur in some areas of the Terai during the morning and evening.

Similar weather conditions are expected to continue in the coming period, with partly cloudy skies in the high hills and Himalayan regions of Koshi and Gandaki, and generally clear weather in the rest of the country. Coldwave conditions are likely to continue in the Terai.

The Division has advised drivers of both long- and short-distance vehicles to be careful, as strong winds, fog, and poor visibility in parts of the Terai may affect road travel. These conditions could also cause delays in flights at some airports.
