Former Mayor of Kathmandu, PL Singh, Passes Away at 85.

The former mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, PL Singh passed away at the age of 85 at his residence in Chaksibari, Thamel, on Monday morning.

Singh had been suffering from an ulcer for an extended period, family members confirmed. A prominent figure in Nepal's democratic movement, he was a close associate of Ganeshman Singh during the fight for democracy.

In 2049 BS, Singh became the mayor of Kathmandu after winning in the local elections. He had recently distanced himself from the Nepali Congress, the political party with which he had long been affiliated.
