CPN-UML Raises Doubts Over Falgun 21 Poll Date

The CPN-UML has said the government has failed to give convincing assurance that elections will be held on Falgun 21.

At an all-party meeting on Monday, UML Secretary Mahesh Basnet said ongoing restrictions on political leaders and the lack of a fear-free environment make it hard to trust the announced election date. He also accused the government of neglecting preparations for free and fair polls.

Basnet further criticized the government for frequently issuing ordinances, warning that such actions undermine democratic norms and create uncertainty over the election timeline.
