Thapa Urges NC to Participate in March 5 Elections, Even via Special Convention

Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has urged the party to participate in the upcoming House of Representatives election after holding its 15th general convention.

Speaking to party cadres and voters in Kathmandu-6, Thapa said that if the regular convention cannot be held, the party should consider a special general convention to ensure election participation. He criticized delays in the central committee meetings, which he claimed were intended to postpone the convention.

“The HoR election on March 5 is crucial to put the constitution on the right track. NC’s key role is to ensure this and address corruption and mismanagement as per public expectations,” Thapa said.

He emphasized that NC, as a major national force, bears the responsibility of steering the country and must align its actions with the sentiments of the Gen-Z generation. Thapa warned that failure to hold elections on time could lead to another phase of political uncertainty in Nepal.
