Three domestic airports in Nepal have been closed because of bad weather, according to the Kathmandu Airport Office.
The office’s spokesperson, Rinji Sherpa, said that Bhairahawa, Janakpur, and Simara airports are currently not operating. Dhangadhi Airport, which was also closed earlier, has now reopened and flights have resumed.
Sherpa said that flights are running normally at other airports across the country.
He explained that airports in the Terai region often have to stop flights in the morning due to heavy fog. As the fog clears and visibility improves, these airports usually reopen in the afternoon.
Flights at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu are operating normally, he added.
