Prime Minister Sushila Karki has highlighted the importance of preserving Nepal’s indigenous cultures and traditions while gradually eliminating harmful practices.

Speaking to a delegation from the Tamu Hyul Chonji Gurung National Council, she appreciated their traditional attire and suggested that government employees could wear traditional dress at least once a week to honour cultural heritage.

“Amid modernization, some communities are losing touch with their true identity. We must preserve Nepal’s unique cultures and traditions,” PM Karki said.

The Council also invited the Prime Minister to attend the Tamu Lhosar festival on Poush 15 (December 30).
