Flights to the West Asia region, which had been suspended for 12 days, have now partially resumed as tensions in the area have slightly eased.
According to Santush Kumar Basnet, spokesperson for Tribhuvan International Airport, some international airlines have restarted flights after observing the situation over the past five days.
Flight suspensions began on February 28 after the US–Iran conflict escalated, with airlines halting services due to passenger safety concerns. During this period, several international flights from Nepal were canceled.
Airlines had closed their airspace routes in countries including United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, and Bahrain due to the rising conflict.
Basnet said airlines are confirming flight schedules only one day in advance. Based on this, some flights have started operating again on a limited basis. Airlines such as Air Arabia and Flydubai have already resumed a few flights.
Meanwhile, Himalaya Airlines has also partially resumed its Dubai service for the past four days, carrying around 100 passengers daily.
