The Nepali Congress Jhapa District Working Committee has initiated the process to expel three individuals from the party, stripping them even of their ordinary membership, for allegedly engaging in activities against the party’s interests.
The decision was taken after it was found that district committee members Thamnath Nepal (Jhapa) and Muna Bhattarai (Buddhashanti), along with regional representatives Shambhu Khadka (Kankai), Tek Narayan Sanggoula (Kankai), and Dipendra Thapa (Gauriganj), had been involved in activities contrary to party interests for some time.
A meeting of the Jhapa District Working Committee held on Falgun 26 concluded that during the House of Representatives Election 2082, they worked against the party’s official candidate and campaigned in favor of rival candidates. Based on this conclusion, a recommendation was made to expel them from the party, including cancellation of their ordinary membership.
Providing information about the decision, Krishna Humagain, Secretary of the Nepali Congress Jhapa District Committee, said disciplinary action was taken against those who acted against party discipline. The statement also noted that the matter has been recommended to the Nepali Congress Central Disciplinary Committee for further action.
The district committee has also urged all party members to follow the party’s policies, discipline, and decisions.
