The Election Commission’s voter education program, which has been running since Falgun 3 (February 15, 2026) for the House of Representatives election, is set to conclude today.
According to the Election Education and Voter Education Directives, 2078 (2021), the voter education program was specially approved to reduce invalid votes, with a total investment of NPR 250 million to conduct voter education across the country.
The silent period will begin at midnight tomorrow. Political parties will only be allowed to hold rallies, public meetings, and campaigns until tomorrow night.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission has clarified that no special passes will be required for essential vehicles on election day. In line with the Vehicle Operation Management Procedure, 2082 (2025), the Commission has stated that vehicles carrying out essential services will not require any pass.
This includes fire trucks, ambulances, hearses, and vehicles transporting drinking water, milk, fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, and petroleum products.
