UML Finalises Six Candidates for National Assembly Polls

The CPN-UML has announced the names of six candidates for the National Assembly elections scheduled for Magh 11 under an alliance with other major parties, while one seat from Madhesh Province remains undecided.

With preparations for the National Assembly elections entering the final stage, the CPN-UML has confirmed the names of six candidates for the polls to be held on Magh 11.

 

The party has secured seven seats under an electoral alliance with the Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Centre), and JSP Nepal. While the candidate from Madhesh Province is yet to be finalised, UML leaders have agreed on nominees from the remaining six provinces.

 

Roshanie Meche has been picked from Koshi Province, Dr Prem Kumar Dangal from Bagmati, Smriti Devkota from Gandaki, Ram Kumari Jhakri from Lumbini, Meena Rakhal from Karnali, and Leela Kumari Bhandari from Sudurpaschim. The decision followed discussions within the party secretariat, with final approval given by party chair KP Sharma Oli.

 

The Election Commission has set today as the deadline for filing nominations for the National Assembly elections.
