Four people lost their lives and 22 others were injured after a bus met with an accident in Shankharapur Municipality–3 of Kathmandu on Wednesday evening.
According to the Valley Traffic Police Office, the identities of three victims have been confirmed. They are 49-year-old Kamna Sharma from Kohalpur, Banke; 51-year-old Indira Limbu from Taplejung; and 55-year-old Shanti Gupta from Pepsi Cola, Kathmandu. The identity of the fourth person who died has not yet been confirmed, said police spokesperson Superintendent Naresh Raj Subedi.
Police said the death toll has reached four, and all 22 injured passengers are currently receiving medical treatment.
The accident happened when a Mahanagar Yatayat bus, returning to Sankhu from Jarsingpauwa after a picnic, lost control and fell nearly 100 meters down a slope at Phedi Jungle in Shankharapur–3.
The injured have been taken to different hospitals, including Shankharapur Hospital, Mulpani Nagar Hospital, Sushma Koirala Memorial Hospital in Sankhu, Nepal Medical College in Jorpati, People’s Life Care Hospital, and Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.
