The Central Committee of the Nepal Communist Party (UML) will hold a meeting on Saturday at the Majestic Grand Palace in Ekantakuna, Lalitpur, starting at 11 am.
Party Chairman KP Sharma Oli will speak at the meeting. He will review the current political situation, evaluate the party’s work so far, and discuss preparations for the upcoming general elections.
One of the main topics of the meeting is to revise the party’s bylaws. Proposed changes, based on decisions made during the Second Statutory General Convention held from September 5 to 7, 2025, and the Eleventh National Convention held from December 14 to 16, 2025, will be presented for approval.
The meeting will also review the income and expenditure report of the Eleventh National Convention held in Chitwan. Party leaders said the convention cost about Rs 30 million less than the Tenth National Convention. This was mainly because accommodation and transportation costs were low, making the event more economical.
Decisions made during the Central Secretariat meetings on December 27, 2025, and January 6 will also be presented for approval. These decisions have already been put into effect through Inter-Party Directive–1.
Chairman Oli will also distribute certificates to officials and members who were elected to the Central Committee during the Eleventh National Convention.
The meeting is expected to end with the discussion and approval of several proposals on current issues, strengthening the party’s strategy and organization ahead of the general elections.
