The National Examination Board (NEB) has announced the results of the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) for the academic year 2081. According to the board, a total of 61.81% of students received a GPA (graded) in the exam. The results were made public on Friday evening through a press conference held by NEB Chairperson Dr. Mahashram Sharma.
The SEE exam had started on Chaitra 7, 2081 (March 20, 2025) and was taken by a total of 499,183 students. Among them, 431,466 were regular students, while 67,715 were participating to improve their previous grades.
In terms of performance, 48,177 students scored between GPA 3.6 to 4.0, which is considered the highest grade range. Similarly, 81,385 students scored between GPA 3.2 to 3.6, and 89,124 students scored between GPA 2.8 to 3.2. Furthermore, 48,479 students obtained a GPA between 2.4 to 2.8, and 4,126 students scored between GPA 2.0 to 2.4. Notably, only 8 students managed to score in the GPA range of 1.6 to 2.0.
However, 126 students had their examinations canceled, and a large number, 167,597 students, were marked as ungraded. This means they did not achieve the minimum requirements to receive a GPA.
The announcement highlights both the achievements and challenges of the current SEE batch, drawing attention to the high number of students who could not be graded.
