Cloudy Skies and Rain Expected in Hilly Areas Today

Monsoon winds are affecting weather across Nepal, causing cloudy skies and increasing the chances of rain.

This afternoon, most parts of the country will see partly to mostly cloudy weather. Light to moderate rain, along with thunder and lightning, is expected in many hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Some places may even get heavy rain.

There could also be light to moderate rain or snowfall in some high hills and mountain areas.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, tonight's weather will remain cloudy in most places. Rain with thunder and lightning is likely in hilly areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in a few other places as well.

Heavy to very heavy rain is possible in some areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim.

The Department has warned people, especially in landslide- and flood-prone areas, to stay safe and alert during this monsoon period.
