Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Vice President Dr. Swarnim Wagle has said his party will not support the government’s agreement on investigating the visit visa scam, calling it vague and lacking commitment. Speaking to the media on Friday, Wagle criticized the deal between the government and Maoist Centre, saying it has no timeline or clear terms of reference.
“We’re a new party, not a foolish one,” Wagle stated. “There’s no deadline, no TOR, just an open-ended promise. We can’t be part of that.”
He accused the government of ignoring RSP’s five-point proposal and lacking seriousness in tackling human trafficking under the guise of visit visas. Wagle reiterated RSP’s demand for a parliamentary or judicial commission to investigate the matter thoroughly.
He added that the party was ready to compromise on the Home Minister’s resignation if a proper investigation plan was in place, but since that didn’t happen, RSP will continue its protest.
