CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has denied reports that he told party leader Janardan Sharma to leave the party. Speaking to journalists at Biratnagar Airport, he said, “I never said that. It’s baseless.” Tensions have been rising within the party, especially due to internal disputes, and Sharma has been seen as challenging Prachanda’s leadership.
Prachanda also dismissed rumours linking party Vice-Chair Agni Sapkota to the recent two-point agreement between the ruling coalition and the opposition. “That’s completely false and without any foundation. Agni Sapkota has no role in this,” he said. The agreement, made to resolve the controversy over the visit visa scandal, has caused dissatisfaction within the Maoist Centre itself.
Responding to concerns, Prachanda said the dissatisfaction was due to a lack of understanding and expressed confidence that once the full picture is clear, party members will support the decision. He further stated that the party remains open to any necessary step, whether it's an agreement, protest, or even rebellion, for the benefit of the country and its people.
