Speaker Ghimire Calls Meeting with Party Whips to Discuss Parliamentary Calendar

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Devraj Ghimire, has called a meeting with the chief whips of the major political parties.

According to the Speaker’s Secretariat, the meeting will be held at Singha Durbar at 9 a.m. on Sunday. They will talk about the parliamentary calendar and other key issues.

Parliamentary work, including discussions on the budget, has been disrupted since Jestha 13 because opposition parties have been blocking proceedings.

The session finally resumed last Friday after the main opposition party, the Maoist Center, agreed to allow the parliament to function again.
