Minister for Education, Science, and Technology Raghujee Pant has announced that the government is working to pass the School Education Bill through the House of Representatives by June 29. He made this statement during a program about the future and quality of community campuses held on Saturday.
Minister Pant said that passing this bill is important for improving education in the country. He urged lawmakers to approve the bill by the target date so that education reforms can move forward quickly.
In the same program, Minister Pant also talked about the issue of students going abroad immediately after completing Grade 12. He said that students should not be sent abroad right after finishing their plus two education. He believes there should be a national discussion on this topic to protect the future of young people.
The minister expressed concern about some consultancies that charge students very high fees, between Rs 1 million to Rs 1.5 million, promising them jobs paying Rs 100,000 in countries like South Korea. He warned that such promises are often false and unfair to the students.
Minister Pant emphasized the importance of keeping young talent in Nepal to help the country grow. He wants students to explore opportunities within Nepal before considering going abroad.
