The 29th meeting of the Educational Human Resource Development Council was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Minister for Education and Sports, Sasmit Pokharel. The meeting approved three important new in-service training curricula aimed at improving the quality of education and strengthening administrative efficiency in the education sector.
The council approved the “Teacher Trainer Training Curriculum, 2083,” “Headteacher Leadership Capacity Development Training Curriculum, 2083,” and the “In-Service Training Curriculum, 2083 for Gazetted Second Class, Third Class, and Technical Assistant Staff of the Nepal Education Service.”
Established under Rule 72 of the Education Regulations, 2059, the council has been working to enhance the professional capacity, policy development, and management skills of teachers, ministry staff, and other individuals involved in the education sector.
According to the ministry, implementation of the newly approved Teacher Trainer Training Curriculum is expected to strengthen the capabilities of trainers, making professional development programs for teachers more effective.
Similarly, the Headteacher Leadership Capacity Development Training Curriculum is expected to foster effective educational leadership in schools and contribute significantly to improving both academic and administrative standards.
The meeting also approved an in-service curriculum for gazetted second-class and third-class officers, as well as technical assistant staff in the education service. This curriculum aims to enhance the capacity of civil servants at all three levels of government in line with the spirit of federalism.
The ministry believes that these initiatives will help strengthen citizen-centered service delivery and support the more effective implementation of various educational programs.
