Rain and Thunderstorms Likely in Several Provinces Today

Parts of Koshi Province, Bagmati Province, and Gandaki Province are likely to get moderate rain and thunderstorms today because of changing weather caused by westerly winds.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the weather will stay mostly to fully cloudy in the hilly and mountain areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali Province. Other parts of the country will have partly cloudy weather.

There is a chance of moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some hilly and mountain areas of Koshi Province, and in several places of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

Thunderstorms may also occur in one or two places in the hilly areas of Lumbini Province and Sudurpashchim Province, as well as in Madhesh Province and some Terai areas of Koshi Province. Strong winds are also possible in some Terai areas of Madhesh and Koshi, so people have been asked to stay careful.

The weather office also said temperatures could increase in some parts of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces.

Tonight, the weather is expected to stay mostly cloudy in the hilly and mountain areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. Karnali and Madhesh provinces may see partly cloudy skies, while other hilly and Terai areas are likely to remain mostly clear.

There is also a chance of light rain with thunder and lightning in a few places of Koshi Province and in one or two places in the hilly and mountain regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. The Division has again requested people to stay alert for possible strong winds in some Terai areas.
