Labor Culture Party Chair and Member of Parliament Harka Sampang Rai has raised questions in Parliament regarding India’s opening of the border route in the Lipulekh area.

Speaking during Monday’s meeting of the House of Representatives, he questioned why the government remains silent while India has opened and is operating the route in Lipulekh.

“India has opened and is operating the border route in Lipulekh. But why is this government silent?” he asked.

He also accused the government of deploying the Nepali Army to show force in landless settlements instead of assigning it to protect the country’s borders.

He said, “Was the Nepali Army deployed to protect the border, or is it being used to intimidate landless communities? The government has failed to establish and protect the border, yet it is misusing the army and setting fire to citizens’ settlements. We need answers for that.”

He further stated that the country now appears to be without proper leadership, and that a government which forces millions of landless people into homelessness, despair, or even suicide has already proven to be unsuccessful.
