Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dol Prasad Aryal, has emphasized the need for sustainable tourism, heritage conservation, and secure diplomatic practices to further strengthen Nepal’s diplomatic and cultural relations.

Speaking at the 78th anniversary program of the Nepal Council of World Affairs on Friday, Speaker Aryal said Nepal must adopt strong and secure diplomatic practices to enhance its diplomatic and cultural ties globally.

He stated that Nepal is currently facing both opportunities and challenges in the changing global environment.

He said, “Globally, Nepal needs to promote sustainable development and preservation in the tourism sector while adopting strong diplomatic practices to strengthen diplomatic and cultural relations. In today’s global context, we are facing numerous opportunities and challenges. The impact of the global pandemic has created new challenges in travel, tourism, and heritage conservation.”

Aryal noted that the effects of the global pandemic have created fresh challenges in tourism and heritage preservation, stressing the need for international cooperation and effective diplomacy to address them.

He further said that international relations and diplomatic engagement have become even more important in the current world order. According to him, diplomacy can play a major role in presenting Nepal’s national identity and positive image to the world based on its non-aligned foreign policy.

“In today’s world, international relations and diplomatic practices are increasingly important. The diplomacy we adopt can play a major role in building Nepal’s positive image globally while upholding our national identity based on non-alignment,” he said.

Speaker Aryal also stressed the need to further strengthen Nepal’s ties with the international community to achieve economic prosperity and build a progressive society.
