K. P. Sharma Oli, Chair of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist), has paid tribute to Madan Bhandari and Jibaraj Ashrit on their 33rd memorial day, remembering their loss in the mysterious Dasdhunga incident.
Oli said that while time has passed, the pain of losing the two leaders has only deepened. He described Madan Bhandari as his leader, friend, and fellow comrade, and Jibaraj Ashrit as a skilled organizer and trusted companion.
Recalling Bhandari’s role in shaping People’s Multiparty Democracy, Oli said the ideology gave Nepal’s communist movement a new direction and laid the foundation for the vision of “Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali.”
He added that although Bhandari, Ashrit, and many senior leaders are no longer physically present, their ideas and contributions continue to guide Nepal’s political journey.
