Former Vice President of the Nepali Congress, Purna Bahadur Khadka, has warned that the party is on the verge of division, blaming the leadership for failing to prioritize unity after the party’s recent electoral defeat.

Speaking at a gathering organized by the Nepali Congress Karnali Province Committee, Khadka said the special general convention held before the House of Representatives election failed to energize the party and contributed to what he described as a historic and humiliating loss.

He accused the leadership of moving toward factional division rather than reconciliation, alleging that senior leaders and long-time party members are being sidelined in the name of internal reforms and digitalization.

Khadka said he is consulting party members across provinces to gather suggestions and stressed that his focus now is on protecting the political future of the next generation and restoring unity within the party.
