Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has told school teachers staging Kathmandu-centric protests for the past few days to “not take too much trouble” as his government will address their just demands.
“The teachers have come here from different parts of the country for protests, knowing that this government will listen to them,” PM Oli said.
Under previous administration, they would not take trouble to protest as they knew that the government would not listen, he said, obliquely referring to the preceding government while responding to journalists’ queries regarding the protest of teachers, who have been demanding that the Parliament promulgate the School Education Act without further delays.
“The government and the teachers are not each other’s opponents. We all are one,” he said: Through discussions, we will sort out which of their demands can be met and which can’t be met.
Oli’s concluding remarks were: The teachers’ problems will be resolved and they will return home, soon.
