The Deputy Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Sunita Dangol, is traveling to Belgium today (April 5) at the invitation of the European Union. The purpose of her visit is to share information about the best practices of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and learn about the successful initiatives of the EU. During her visit, Dangol will be involved in studying urban development practices in various places.
After Belgium, she will visit Luxembourg to observe the courts and learn about the EU's efforts in dispute resolution. She will also have discussions with local government representatives on various topics.
While in Belgium, Dangol will visit the parliament and exchange experiences about the successful practices of KMC. She will also meet with representatives of the government, members of parliament, and local representatives.
In addition, there will be an exchange of ideas on preserving cultural heritage between UNESCO and Kathmandu Metropolitan City. Dangol noted that Kathmandu is a UNESCO Creative City and said there will be in-depth discussions about preserving, promoting and enhancing Nepalese arts, culture and heritage. She also plans to discuss the potential of screen tourism and how to create policies related to art, culture and new industries during her visit.
