Diversion Washed Away, Highway Blocked in Dumkibas, Nawalparasi

On the East-West Highway, the road is blocked at Dumkibas in Nawalpur (Bardaghat Susta East) due to the washing away of a diversion. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhu Nepal from the District Police Office, the diversion was washed away by the flood that came this morning, causing the road to be blocked.

Since the flood is still ongoing, it is not possible to do anything immediately for traffic to pass. Because the diversion was destroyed by the flood, small and passenger vehicles are being allowed to use the route through Hongsi Gate towards Sardhi.

Meanwhile, under the Butwal-Narayangadh Road Expansion Project, a new bridge has been completed. According to project information officer Shiva Khanal, the plan is to open the bridge for use from the second week of Ashad (mid-June).
