Continuous rainfall since last night has led to the blockage of two important roads in Gulmi district, the Kaligandaki Corridor and the Ridi–Wami Taksar road.

A massive landslide struck Gargare in Kaligandaki Rural Municipality-1 this afternoon, bringing down large rocks and completely blocking the Kaligandaki Corridor, according to the District Police Office.

Meanwhile, rising water levels in the Dahare River in Satyawati Rural Municipality-6 have also flooded the Ridi–Wami Taksar road, making it impassable. The Ledo River has overflowed too, adding to the situation. DSP Ganga Bahadur Saru, the district police spokesperson, confirmed that floodwaters and landslides have made travel impossible along these routes.

As a result, vehicles heading toward Butwal via Ridi and Burtibang (Baglung) are stranded. Police teams from Johang Khaireni and Purtighat have been deployed to clear the roads, but ongoing rain is slowing down the cleanup efforts.

Authorities have urged the public to avoid using these roads for now and stay alert due to the risk of further landslides and flooding.
