Prime Minister Sushila Karki has taken notice of the demands made by Durga Prasai, the coordinator of the Save Nation, Nationality, Religion-Culture, and Citizens Campaign. The two met at Singha Durbar on Monday, where they discussed the issues raised by Prasai and his campaign.

During the meeting, Prasai told the Prime Minister that these demands were not his personal wishes but the concerns of the public. In response, Prime Minister Karki said the government would discuss the issues internally until December 17 and continue talks afterward.

After the meeting, Prasai said that both Prime Minister Karki and Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal had taken the demands seriously and agreed to keep the dialogue going. He also told the Prime Minister that elections might not take place on time if their concerns were ignored.

Prasai warned that if the current “citizens’ government,” formed after the Gen-Z movement, does not address their demands, they might have to start a stronger protest.

His demands include removing business owners from bank blacklists, stopping the use of bulldozers against landless squatters and scrap traders unless long-term alternatives are provided, increasing the salaries of security forces and civil servants, abolishing the provincial system, declaring Nepal a Hindu state, and holding a referendum on the monarchy.
