Senior Advocate Nepal Recommended for Judicial Council Member

Prime Minister KP Oli has recommended senior advocate Mahesh Nepal for the post of member of the Judicial Council. This recommendation was made because the current member of the Judicial Council, Ram Prasad Bhandari, is going to retire soon after completing his four-year term on June 24.

As per Nepal’s Constitution, the Prime Minister has the authority to recommend one legal expert as a member of the Judicial Council. The Judicial Council is responsible for making important decisions related to the judiciary of the country.

Now, Mahesh Nepal’s name will be sent for a parliamentary hearing. After the hearing, the President will officially appoint him as a member of the Judicial Council.
