Nepal’s national cricket team is all set for the four-nation T20I tournament in Hong Kong from April 9 to 13. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has named a 14-member squad, led by captain Rohit Poudel.
Joining him are: Dipendra Singh Airee, Kushal Bhurtel, Aasif Sheikh, Sompal Kami, Lalit Rajbanshi, Kushal Malla, Karan KC, Bashir Ahmed, Shahab Alam, Nandan Yadav, Rijan Dhakal, Gulshan Kumar Jha, and Lokesh Bam.
Nandan Yadav will be playing for the national team for the first time. Meanwhile, Bashir Ahmed and Shahab Alam return to the T20I squad after a break since 2022.
The tournament includes Nepal, Hong Kong, Kuwait, and Qatar. All teams will play each other once, with the top two making it to the final. This tournament also helps Nepal get ready for the upcoming T20 World Cup qualifiers.
Notably missing are Sandeep Lamichhane, who is recovering from surgery, and Anil Sah, who is out with an injury.
Though Stuart Law was recently appointed head coach, former captain Gyanendra Malla will guide the team during this series.
