Tehran has submitted a new peace proposal to the United States through Pakistan, aiming to reduce regional tensions. According to Axios, Iran has prepared a two-phase framework to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and end the ongoing war. The plan first addresses the US naval blockade, followed by a long-term ceasefire and permanent end to hostilities. Nuclear talks would begin only after the sea route is opened.

While President Trump has said Iran can call directly for negotiations, he remains reluctant to send a special team. Iran demands the lifting of the blockade, compensation, and guarantees against future military strikes. The US, however, wants Iran to halt uranium enrichment for 10 years and transfer its nuclear stockpile abroad, a demand Tehran has yet to agree on.

The strategic Strait of Hormuz, through which 20% of global oil passes, remains Iran's key bargaining chip. No formal peace deal has been reached since the US-Israeli strikes on February 28, and global economic instability continues.
