Bulldozer Rolls on Squatter Settlement Along Manohara River

The government has deployed a bulldozer at the squatter settlement along the banks of the Manohara River in Bhaktapur.

The government operated the bulldozer on Sunday morning against unauthorized structures built along the Manohara River in Bhaktapur. A team from Kathmandu Metropolitan City, along with a bulldozer, has started demolishing the makeshift shelters.

The eviction of the settlement, which began on Saturday evening, had been halted due to obstruction by locals. Today, the demolition of the shanties has resumed with increased security vigilance.

On Saturday, the government demolished structures along riverbanks and on hazardous public and government land in Thapathali, Gairigaun, and Shantinagar under Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
