The Council of Ministers meeting held on Thursday at Singha Durbar's Prime Minister and Cabinet Office has made three important decisions.
The meeting decided to form a negotiation team led by a joint secretary from the Ministry of Finance to finalize an agreement on a concessional loan assistance of 115 million US dollars from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the integrated water and sewerage management sector. The team will finalize the loan assistance agreement and other related documents.
Similarly, a previous Cabinet decision dated September 6, 2018 (Bhadau 21, 2075 BS) had transferred the land plot 114–3–0–0 of the National Police Training Institute in Maharajgunj to the name of the President. The meeting has now amended that decision, deciding that the said land will remain with the National Police Training Institute for its use as before.
Additionally, the government has decided to form a study task force led by the Information and Communication Technology Advisor to study the software and information technology-related matters currently being used in government agencies.
According to the government, these decisions have been made with the objective of administrative reform, public service management, and making the information technology system more effective.
