Prime Minister Sushila Karki has called for effective policies to make foreign employment safer, transparent, and beneficial for Nepali workers at home and abroad.

Addressing a program marking the 18th anniversary of the Foreign Employment Board, Prime Minister Sushila Karki emphasized that foreign employment must ensure safety, dignity, and fair access for all.
As the Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security and the Chairperson of the Board, she instructed officials to introduce concrete plans for the social security and respectful reintegration of returnee workers into their families and communities.
PM Karki also highlighted the government’s focus on utilizing the skills, capital, and experience gained by migrant workers to strengthen Nepal’s domestic economy.
She noted that initiatives like the Call Center and telemedicine services launched by the Board have become valuable tools for addressing migrants’ problems.
The Prime Minister further urged the ministry to create an action plan promoting decent job opportunities within the country through skill-based entrepreneurship and reintegration programs.
