Tensions Deepen in RPP as Leadership Clash Escalates Ahead of Central Committee Meeting

As the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) prepares for its Central Committee meeting on November 13–14, disputes between Chairman Rajendra Lingden and General Secretary Dhawal Shamsher Rana have resurfaced.

Rana has called a separate gathering of his close office-bearers and central committee members this afternoon at Nepal House in Baluwatar, pressing the leadership to hold the party’s General Convention by December. His faction argues that the political scenario after the Gen Z movement calls for immediate party restructuring.

Lingden, however, maintains that the central convention cannot be organized this year, citing ongoing district and provincial conventions.

The rift widened further after disciplinary actions were taken against Rana’s allies, prompting strong backlash from his side. Rana, seen as Lingden’s main challenger, appears to be strengthening his internal base ahead of the upcoming convention.
