Former NEA Chief Hitendra Dev Shakya Challenges Transfer in Supreme Court

Former Managing Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Hitendra Dev Shakya has filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court, contesting the government’s decision to transfer him from the top post.

In his petition, Shakya has sought reinstatement as NEA’s Managing Director. The case has been listed for hearing on Tuesday before the single bench of Justice Nripdhwaj Niraula.

If the court issues an interim order in his favor, Shakya could immediately return to his position.

The Sushila Karki-led government had recently transferred Shakya following the Gen-Z movement and appointed Manoj Silwal as the new NEA Managing Director through a cabinet decision.
