The Patan High Court has issued a temporary order that stops the immediate implementation of the decision to hold elections for the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).
On Monday, a single bench led by Judge Kripasur Karki issued an interlocutory interim order, directing that no actions related to the ANFA elections should be taken at this time.
According to the order, issued under Rule 42 of the High Court Rules, 2073, no candidacy registration forms should be submitted, and no other election-related activities should proceed.
Earlier, ANFA had announced that the elections would take place on February 11. To address the issue, the court has scheduled a hearing for January 20, during which both parties will have the opportunity to present their arguments and discuss the matter.
The court’s decision follows a petition filed by Amit Khatri against the National Sports Council, in which he requested that the elections be postponed. The petition states that the current ANFA committee’s term is still valid for another six months.
