Students from Padma Kanya College in Kathmandu staged a protest on Friday demanding a fair investigation into the death of Nepali student Prisha Sah, who was found dead in her hostel room at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Odisha, India. The protest was organized under the college's Free Student Union (FSU).

The protesting students wore black masks as a symbol of mourning and anger. They also carried placards with messages such as “Ensure justice for the student daughter” and “We want justice.” The students expressed deep concern over the repeated deaths of Nepali students studying abroad and urged both the Nepali and Indian governments to investigate the incident seriously and take necessary legal action against anyone found guilty.

Prisha Sah, originally from Birgunj, was found hanging in her hostel room on Thursday night. The circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear, and students are demanding a thorough investigation to find out whether it was suicide or if there was foul play involved.

This is not the first such case. Just a few months ago, in February, another Nepali student, Prakriti Lamsal, was found dead in the same hostel. The repeated incidents have raised serious concerns among students and the general public about the safety and well-being of Nepali students studying abroad, particularly in India.
